This week’s newsletter topic, HOME, has been a long time in the making for me.
Over three years, actually.
And this week, the idea of coming HOME has been swirling around in my subconscious. That’s because this past Monday marked an important anniversary.
On January 29, 2021, my husband and I moved into our current house.
Big deal, you may think… people move all the time.
Sure, I’ll give you that.
But I need to tell you that this move was different.
Not only did this move defy every “I'll never” I’ve ever said…
I’ll never leave the city. (Adios, Milwaukee.)
I’ll never live in a small town. (New town - not tiny, but definitely small.)
I’ll never live close to where I grew up. (It takes me 25 minutes to get to my roots.)
I hate grass and too much land. (I can’t believe how good it feels to have space.)
But there’s more.
This move actually saved me at a time when I was broken in every single way.
(And I’m not sharing that for a dramatic Substack declaration. It’s absolutely true.)
