What do Adam Sandler, Hugh Grant, Tom Wopat (Luke Duke), and I have in common? We were all born on September 9. And I'm not sure if anyone cares, but…. Kristy McNichol (she played “Buddy” on the 70s show Family) was born on September 11, not the 9th, as I have told people my entire life. It wasn't until I was doing research for today’s newsletter that I found out my ‘70s news sources (Bananas or Dynamite) had let me down. Is it overly dramatic to be sad that Buddy is not my birthday buddy?
To help recover from this blow, I did a deep dive into everything 70s and now feel better.
In honor of today, I’ve got some special birthday treats for you. While I’d love to share some delicious chocolate chip cookies or maybe cupcakes with mile-high frosting, this is the internet… so you’re getting digital treats.
Instead, I’ve put together A TON OF SITES where you can find deals on big-ticket purchases as well as things you buy every day.
Time to go shopping!
Abbey
First, let’s save $$$ at big-box stores.
Find various ways to save and get extra discounts on these sites:
RetailMeNot: RetailMeNot is a popular coupon and deal website that provides promo codes, printable coupons, and cashback offers for a bunch of big-box stores and retailers.

Coupon Sherpa: This mobile app and website provides digital coupons and in-store coupons for various big-box retailers. Show the coupon on your phone at the store to get the discount.
Slickdeals: Slickdeals is pretty slick. It’s a community-driven website where users share deals, discounts, and promotions they find at big-box stores and online retailers. Browse their forums and app for the latest savings opportunities.
Personal Disclaimer and Hot Tip: Like every online purchase, be careful before clicking "BUY." Always be sure to read the terms and conditions for each offer and ensure they are valid for your specific purchase. Double-check the site and be sure delivery terms and conditions are groovy before making any sale. Oh, and don't visit any of these sites after major surgery, a breakup, a bad day at work, or after too much vino or coffee.
Save money on food & home essentials.
Amazon Pantry: We’ve all gotten to know Amazon pretty darn well in the past few years, so this one isn’t new, but they do have some great deals.
Grocery Coupons Websites: Check out websites like Coupons.com, SmartSource, and RedPlum for printable and digital coupons for a wide range of grocery and household products.
Ibotta: Ibotta is a mobile app that provides cashback on groceries and other household essentials. You can browse offers, shop at participating stores, and earn cashback by submitting receipts.
Jet.com: Jet.com offers competitive prices on a variety of products, including groceries, cleaning supplies, and home essentials. They also provide discounts for buying in bulk.
Thrive Market: If Whole Foods and Costco had a baby - it’d look like Thrive Market - an online marketplace specializing in organic and natural products. I get deals on all of the gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free products I love. Plus beauty, home, and lifestyle items too! Get 40% off on your first order with this link.
The sites not many people know about.
These lesser-known discount websites have unique deals and savings. Here are five relatively less-known discount sites to explore:
DealNews: DealNews is like your big-mouth friend in high school who can’t keep a secret. The site finds special offers on everything from electronics to clothing and often highlights deals that may not be widely advertised.
Brad's Deals: You’re going to want to get to know Brad. Brad's Deals offers a curated selection of discounts and deals across various categories. They handpick deals to help you find hidden gems and save on your purchases.
Savings.com: Savings.com is a community-driven website where users share deals, coupons, and savings tips. You can find discounts on a variety of products and services, and the community aspect often uncovers unique deals.
Woot: You want daily deals? WOOT! Here they are. Woot, now owned by Amazon, offers daily deals on a wide range of products. They have various categories, including electronics, home goods, and apparel. Deals change frequently.
Slickdeals: While Slickdeals is relatively well-known, you might not know about its active community that shares deals and discounts across numerous categories. Pretty slick. You can often find hidden or niche deals here.
More fine print… Remember to be careful and verify the legitimacy of deals and websites with lesser-known discount sites. Before clicking your life away, read user reviews and check for secure payment options to avoid getting taken for a ride.
Cheers to wine for less.
Let’s toast these five websites with discounted wine selections:
Wine.com: Wine.com is a popular online wine retailer that frequently offers discounts and promotions on a wide variety of wines. They often have deals on cases and seasonal sales.
Wines 'Til Sold Out (WTSO): WTSO is known for its flash sales, where a limited quantity of wines is offered at a discounted price until they’re sold out. It’s a great way to get amazing wine for less. Plus, it’s a fun concept, no?
Last Bottle Wines: Wine deals every day! Last Bottle Wines offers daily wine deals with discounts on a single featured wine each day. Wine enthusiasts love Last Bottle Wines.
NakedWines.com: Here you’re helping the little guys - the independent winemakers. Customers who invest in independent winemakers receive discounts on wines those winemakers produce. It's a different approach to wine discounts.
WineBid: Looking for rare and collectible wines? Try WineBid, an online wine auction platform where you can bid on and purchase wines at potentially discounted prices.
*One more TV Voice Disclaimer: Don’t forget to factor in shipping costs and regulations when purchasing wine online, as they vary by location. Additionally, check the website's shipping policies to ensure they can deliver to your area. Always drink responsibly and in moderation.
