You betcha.

As I write today’s newsletter, I’m typing away in my office while the rest of my house is humming like a well-oiled machine:

  • The dishwasher is running.

  • There’s a load in the washer and one in the dryer.

  • I considered sending our Roomba (we call ours Alice) on a midweek mission… but discovered I forgot to charge her. So Alice is currently on a coffee break. (Probably texting Sam?)

These are my productivity multi-tasks. And yes, I’m making that verb a noun, my own special noun that includes a hyphen. (While writing this I consulted the spelling/grammar police and learned I was off on many counts.)

At any rate…

I also schedule a few self care multi-tasks into my day.

For example…

  • I’m typing this while wearing an LED face mask. (Write a newsletter while boosting my skin’s collagen and elastin. BAM!)

  • I usually stand at my desk versus sit because it’s supposed to be better for me.

  • I have water, coffee, and electrolyte mix (this is my fav) all at my disposal to be sipped all morning. (In my book, multidrinking = multitasking.)

  • Later, I’ll throw on my weighted vest, hit the treadmill, and curate the list of links listed below. (Cardio+weight bearing+work= ultimate productivity.)

Wassup, friends?

As you can see, I have many things simultaneously happening throughout my workday.

Getting s#$t done is one of many reasons I love to WFH.

I’m grateful to be able to do my work-work, house-work, and self-care work (because it is work) throughout the day.

And, while some might argue multitasking leads to brain overload and stress, I beg to differ.

Multitasking works for me.

Maybe you think putting too much multi in your tasking isn’t effective on a daily basis.

Fair enough.

So, let me present another way to multi-task.

Let’s talk about…

Travel MultiTasking for Self-Care & Renewal

Yes. You read it correctly.

Celebrate, it’s the vacation justification you’ve been waiting for.

As we swing into spring and summer… why not just go ahead and plan that trip you’ve been wanting to take?

If you find yourself thinking, “I’ll do it next year” or “Someday”… try this:

Examine your dream trip and see how you can make the absolute most of your time away… making your trip not just an escape, but also a way to check off bucket list items and/or get the sleep, renewal, and restoration you need.

I’ve got some ideas on how you can do this below.

Let’s say you…

Want to finally get a handle on your Spanish, French, Italian, or Portuguese, while living like a native, eating at local hangouts, and soaking in the culture?

Idea: Enlist in a week or multi-week adventure with a program like languageandluxury.com. This isn’t your typical language immersion - it’s a personalized experience that blends private, one-on-one language immersion with high-end cultural travel. No groups, and no classrooms, just personalized instruction, upscale accommodations, and activities you choose. Full disclosure, I did the program myself and loved it so much that I now work for them!

Maybe you want to get your sleep back on track and go somewhere where restoration is your primary goal, and vacationing is your second.

Idea: A sleep retreat. See this link for a list of sleep retreats, or click here to learn why sleep has become the new luxury sleep essential.

Looking to deepen your yoga practice, spend time at the beach, rest up, and eat healthy and delicious food?

Idea: Book a yoga retreat that’s more than a yoga retreat - here are the best yoga retreats in the US that are more than a mindful reset, 9 restorative European yoga retreats, and a lineup of luxury yoga retreats in Mexico.

Or maybe… You just want to unplug and figure out WTH to do with your life.

Idea: Pick a city (any city) and plant yourself there for a long weekend. This could be ten minutes from your house, btw. The point is to see where the day takes you and take advantage of local amenities ~ great hotel bed, room service, area spa, nail salon, museum, park… whatever. Not sure where to go? Here are 26 ideas.

The bottom line? Maybe this is your sign to take your multi-tasking on the road and cover multiple bases while you get out of Dodge.

When you’re done Googling vacation deals, take a moment to dive into the links I’ve put together this week.

Enjoy!

Listen & Watch

First, something to make you smile.

Also, I was on the Golf Podcasts USA podcast! Listen as host Brett Smith interviews me about my thoughts on area golf shows (the Chicago Golf Show a few weeks ago and this weekend’s Greater Milwaukee Golf Show) as well as general thoughts on Midwest golf travel and travel in Spain and Portugal.

Health is Wealth

Can’t sleep? In honor of National Sleep Week, find out the best sleep aides on the market. Speaking of better sleep, let’s talk about the Better Sleep App. I’ve been using it for the past three weeks - at night and sometimes during the day for power naps (I swear by them). Honestly, I feel like this app is pure magic. The meditations work every single time!

Let’s talk great food, starting with breakfast. Almost every single recipe on this site would float my boat - especially 1-5. Fiber, protein, and anti-inflammatory picks for the win.

For lunch, how about a good bowl of soup… like this one?
