Happy New Year!
I hope your New Year (all two days of it so far) is going well.
Because I’ve been in this Christmas/New Year Neverland like everyone else for the past two weeks, the only thing I was inspired to write about this week was … you guessed it… the New Year.
El Año Nuevo.
2025.
Call it what you like; I’m here to talk about it, plus the following:
My latest feelings on resolutions.
My plans/intentions for 2025. (Sharing the dirt.)
Questions for you about 2025. (More like prompts, not gonna pry.)
LINKS to get you on the right foot for the New Year - in health, wealth, travel, and everyday life.
And last but not least… a New Year’s Weekend Flash Sale - 50% off an annual subscription! (Get one for yourself. Get one for your BFF.)
We’ll get to all of that.
But first, I’ve got an important question:
Are we almost to the point where we actually know what day it is?
I mean seriously. I thought it was already 2025 like six days ago.
Now that we’re almost out of Limboland, it’s time to focus on the New Year.
Our goals, resolutions, and intentions.
Are you ready?
If you’ve been reading this newsletter since the beginning, you may already know I don’t dig resolution-making.
In a nutshell, I think resolutions are great, but they also stress me out - a lot of pressure to make changes, and more often than not, I screw up and ditch the resolutions altogether. Or slowly lose interest in them over time and forget I even made them.
At least, that’s been my experience in the past.
However, this year, I’m taking a new approach.
Instead of focusing on resolutions, I’m focusing on doing the right thing - personally and professionally.
Doing the right thing means limiting things I know are “no bueno” and consuming/doing more things “they” say are good.
(Maybe I’ll even figure out who “they” are this year.)
Note I don’t say restrict altogether. That’s not realistic and, quite honestly, not fun. Sometimes, the “right thing” means doing the “wrong thing.” (Like having wine to celebrate an important moment with friends. Or eating your mom’s homemade chocolate cake…)
And that’s okay.
With this in mind, I’ve created a MORE OF & LESS OF list:
This is what I’m doing - it’s neither right nor wrong.
Similarly, what you decide to do is cool, too. Maybe you want to make an “IN” and “OUT” list like popular Substacker Emma Gannon.
Or, you could consider the quote that my friend Liz posted:
And maybe, instead of worrying about resolutions and trying to be perfect or accomplish X, Y, or Z in 2025, we could just stop worrying. And trust things will work out. I got this idea from a LinkedIn post by a graphic artist, Karla Pámanes. Karla wrote about trusting the process in her business and life. (Which isn’t a bad idea.) Karla said:
Magic happens when you stop worrying about how things will turn out.

Trusting the process helps us face the unknown, which can be scary. Also scary is trying new things. And, making changes? It's downright scary and tricky.
Substacker Laurie Gunning Grossman knows how to make the unknown less scary.
(She had me at soul slippers, btw.)
The bottom line? The trick to making changes that stick in 2025 is making changes on YOUR TERMS.
Decide what you want to change, and how you’ll change it… and I guarantee you’ll succeed.
The key element is that YOU decide.
I would love it if you’d share your resolutions, mantras, or plans below!
