Happy Saturday,
I hope you’ve had a great week. I sure did - I spent the week golfing my way through Alabama. Which, by the way, is a fabulous place for golf (on and off the RTJ Golf Trail), outdoor activities, fishing, rafting, beaches, the coolest restaurants & bars, and amazing art & culture. And so much more!
I’m not kidding. Alabama is a hidden treasure.
Did you know that Mobile has a Cuban speakeasy? It feels like you’re in Havana. It’s the coolest!
I’ll be posting about my trip on my socials (@abbeyalgiers) and writing some articles about Alabama golf & tourism.
Believe me, once you experience Alabama’s hospitality, you’ll see why they call it sweet. (And I’m not just talking about their tea.)
I’ll give you the details on what to do in Alabama (coming straight from my great hosts at the courses, Sweet Home Alabama, and Visit Mobile).
To give you a preview, check out the courses I had the opportunity to play:
Magnolia Grove’s Short Course (named by Golf Digest as the best par 3 course in America!) and Crossings Course, both on the RTJ Golf Trail
That’s over 72 holes of golf - which explains why I’m doing niksen this afternoon.
What’s niksen? It’s one of six Dutch habits for happiness, health, and self care.
More details on those habits in this week’s Weekend Lineup, plus a bunch more fun tips and ideas to help you relax, restore, and enjoy your weekend.
If you want to read this week’s Weekend Lineup and more features like it, consider becoming a paid subscriber. You can sign up for a trial, and if you decide you’d rather stick with the free plan, easily switch back within the 7 day trial period. No harm, no foul. :)
With that, let’s go! I’ve got to prepare for my afternoon of niksen.
